Warm a Heart, Warm a Home...
This Valentines Day as you think about your special someone, remember the importance of loving a neighbor. We can all come together by donating just $10.00 between Feb. 14th and March 14th and raise $30,000 in 30 days, toward heating assistance for a neighbor. Lets keep Transylvania warm lets winter!

The temperatures keep dropping as we get closer to winter. We really need the community's help! We need WARM blankets, firewood, and monetary support for our heating programs. Please see our Donate Page to help with our winter campaign.
Volunteers Needed!
Join us for a tour!
Come in and take a tour. Every Tuesday from 12:00 pm -12:30 pm, Angela Leopard, Administration Manager at Sharing House, welcomes you to join her for a tour of the facility and all that we have to offer to each individual volunteer. Please come join us.
1 day a week, 4 days a month, 3 hours a shift....Share your love with a neighbor, become a volunteer!

2011 reflection on Crisis Services: 897 requests for emergency heating and electricity
58 requests for emergency water/utility
117 requests for emergency housing

303 additional new households
2604 requests for emergency food supplies were filled
179,870.3 lbs. of food donated and distributed
TCM Spent $11,330 to purchase additional food to meet the need.
58 families received a variety of good, used furniture to make their house a home.
40 requests for cut/split firewood were filled.
New Directions Case Management
Provides holistic, intensive case management services to motivated people desiring to improve the quality of their life through a systematic personal action plan leading toward living wage employment. New Directions program works side by side with Wheels to Work and ICAN.

26 families were served
9 are employed
16 improved health
13 improved housing
4 furthered education
16 decreased dependence on Sharing House
Wheels To Work
Provides reliable transportation by transferring donated, road worthy vehicles to people seeking living wage employment.
2011 Reflection of Wheels to Work: 8 donated vehicles were given to working families for reliable transportation
Individual Computer Access Network:
Helping meet the technology needs of continued education by providing donated, refurbished laptops to New Directions clients continuing their education.
Special Programs
Adopt A Family Christmas Program
Provides Christmas to needy families in our community by enlisting community members to share in the process of "adopting" needy families and providing Christmas gifts and dinner fixings, enabling them to have an enjoyable Christmas through adoption partnerships.

- Total Number of Families Served: 681
- Total Number of Individuals Served: 1825
- Total Number of Children 0-17: 785
- Total Number of Adults 18-59: 881
- Total Number of Elderly 60+: 159
Back To School
Provides new book bags and school supplies to children between pre-school and 12th grade. Each book bag is packed according to the students' school list for the year.
2011 Reflection of Back to School: 517 children received supplies they needed to do their best in school.
