Executive Director

Shelly Webb
Executive Director

Shelly Webb is the Executive Director of Sharing House. She is responsible for over-seeing and advancing our vision, ensuring that the programs are professionally designed and adequately resourced.  Shelly is available to tell the vital stories of Sharing House to congregations, small groups, businesses, and civic groups.  Shelly is an ordained minister in the United Methodist Church, who has worked extensively in ecumenical and interfaith ministries.   If you would like to contact Shelly, please click on her name above to send an email.

 

Cara Bradshaw
Community Impact Director

Cara Bradshaw focuses on strategic initiatives, partnerships, communications, and fundraising. Cara spent nearly twenty years in the non-profit sector and in the media, mostly recently serving as Chief Impact Officer for Family Promise, a national nonprofit that provides solutions for families experiencing homelessness. She facilitates courses on financial success for nonprofits, women in leadership, innovation, and diversity, equity, and inclusion for Cornell University. Cara also serves on the Brevard-Transylvania Housing Coalition, the board of The Center for Spiritual Wisdom, and volunteers at Almost Home Dog Rescue. She loves animals, mountain biking, hiking, and jumping in cold water.

 

Valinda Chandler
Crisis Assistance and
Clothing Manager

Valinda Chandler manages crisis services and oversees the clothing room. Prior to working at Sharing House, Valinda worked as a caseworker at social services. She brings 10+ years of non-profit experience including Salvation Army and Carolina Family Health Center in Wilson NC. In her spare time, Valinda volunteers with Elves of Brevard, gardens, and hikes in our beautiful community.

 
Crisis Assistance & Volunteer Manager

Jackie Curtis
Crisis Assistance and Volunteer Director

Jackie Curtis and oversees all crisis services for our neighbors who come to Sharing House.  Prior to working with Sharing House, Jackie worked as a supervisor in the mental health field. Jackie trains and supervises a generous crew of volunteers who greet people at our door, and make appointments for our neighbor interviews. She trains our interviewers to be compassionate and effective listeners. Jackie oversees the use of our crisis service database and manages the distribution of funds for assistance. She also manages Sharing House volunteers, welcoming new people from the community to the vital work of this impactful ministry.

 

Sara Freeman
Pantry Director

Sara Freeman oversees all food donations and distributions. She brings with her ample experience with local food, nutrition, and agriculture. Prior to working for Sharing House, she was the Nutrition Educator and Agriculture Program Assistant at the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service in Transylvania County. There she worked with limited-resourced families teaching nutrition and food safety. Sara is a firm believer in all people having access to nutritious food and especially enjoys building community focused around food. On her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and backpacking in her Pisgah Forest backyard.

 

Bunny Frost
Empowerment Programs Manager

Bunny Frost brings over two decades of leadership in community-focused enterprises to his role at Sharing House. His background includes running Bills Boiler House at Brevard College and leading youth programs at Malibu Methodist Church in California. At Sharing House, he directs the Empowerment Programs, aiding adults and youth towards financial independence and growth. He also oversees the Wheels to Work program, providing crucial transportation for low-income neighbors to sustain their employment and housing stability.

A Brevard College psychology graduate, Bunny mentors at The Cindy Platt Boys and Girls Club and enjoys canoeing and hiking with his partner Rachel and their dog, Watson. Raised in a close-knit farming community, Bunny's deep appreciation for community bonds infuses his work, striving to uplift individuals and strengthen community ties.

 

Kristine Tuggle
Finance and Operations Director

Kristine Tuggle is responsible for all aspects of business management including accounting, business contracts, donor estate planning, assuring our financial accountability and integrity. Her work includes tracking the annual budget, projecting future organizational needs, allocating funds to our programs and monitoring internal financial controls. Kristine assists with the Annual Impact Report and fundraising strategies.

Bev Spicknall
Pantry Manager

Lynn Traub is the instigator of joy, bringing so much fun to the “Special Projects” Sharing House offers to meet the nurturing needs of children and youth. Lynn oversees the “Back to School” supply summer program as well as the “Christmas Blessings” program. She coordinates volunteers, purchases bulk supplies and toys throughout the year, and is the critical contact for our neighbors who need appointments to the seasonal programs. Lynn moved to Brevard from Michigan, where her previous career was in psychiatric nursing. Lynn brings much love and laughter to the work of Sharing House.

 
 
 

Bev Spicknall started volunteering in the Sharing House Pantry in 2017 before joining the team. She brings with her a full career of non-profit experience, including the Family Services Coordinator at a Habitat for Humanity in Alabama, Community Education and Development positions at the Arbor Hospice and Homecare in Michigan, and running her own personal business which provided online marketing and communication services. Bev is a true advocate in helping her community, and has always volunteered wherever she has lived, one of her favorite being her kids’ school.
